Great family fun to be had this weekend at the annual Port Royal soft shelled crab festival. Crab cooked anyway you like it- fried, in patties, in tacos even. Of course there was lots of other food as well, but the crab was the star of the show. Vendors lined the sides of the street selling anything from jewelry, to T shirts, bags, baskets, and large wooden bowls and platters just to name a few. There was music from local bands, a huge blow up ship for kids to play on, and even an interactive robotic trash can rolling around reminding people not to litter. But to get to the vendors and food, you first had to walk through my favorite part-the cars! There were cars from at least two different car clubs- Low Country Muscle Cars was represented as well as Classic Car & Truck of Beaufort. Even though there were four other car shows going on in the local area there was a good gathering of classic cars and trucks at the festival for the public to enjoy and vote on their favorite. I have posted some pictures below to give an idea of what you can see at the festival next year. Photo credit goes to DeeAnn Harm. |
