We came in this morning to find that our Jewel Cichlids had laid eggs once everyone had left the office. We knew this day was approaching as the parents have been busily excavating multiple areas around the tank. The eggs should hatch in the next two days and then things should get very interesting as mom and dad go on the defense to keep the other tank inhabitants at bay. Soon as babies hatch and I can get a picture I will update to let everyone know. Where are the eggs you ask? Click on the picture to enlarge it and you can see the yellow circle of eggs in front of the mother fish, behind the top leaves of the plant.
